Where Insta360 falls short

Close-up talking-head content is where 360° cameras consistently underperform. At conversational distance, the reframed image shows softness that a standard camera avoids. Skin tones are less accurate, and the reframing algorithm sometimes makes distracting micro-adjustments to the frame during sustained direct-to-camera segments.

Low-light performance is limited by the optical demands of a full-sphere capture. In evening or indoor environments with limited light, an Insta360 will show significantly more noise than a phone flagship or dedicated camera.
